Our last days there were busy especially for Jeff as he helped his father sort through generations of mementos. My contribution to the history of the house was the "Thomas Tree".
Much to my surprise, they sprouted the next Spring. I kept the best one in the pot for several years until we made plans to move to Idaho. After loading the u-haul we spent several days at the Malakoff house. The potted tree stayed there and was planted in the front yard where it has given a great display of color every year. Now it and Thomas are twenty five years old. The last time I saw the tree and took this picture, the leaves were just starting to turn.
