My usual habit is to take a photo from the window of wherever we are happening to stay in our travels. Since we arrived after dark this time I waited until first thing the next morning. I just about startled Jeff when I yelled, "Hey this looks just like an Edward Hopper painting!" I was completely excited about this because I love Edward Hopper paintings. Jeff was probably not surprised by my outburst because he's used to my stream of consciousness art references.
Anyway I started taking pictures but I also stepped back from the window so the guy across the way wouldn't see me taking photos in his direction. I decided to be discrete rather than creepy. After a few minutes I realized that he had gotten out his phone and was making a video of someone on a lower floor in the building between him and me. Well, the creepy factor just went up a notch. Voyeuristic or not, this is now one of my favorite watercolors.
